Faith Conquers our Fears
Every night before the first day of school, I would wake up in the middle of the night with my stomach would be in knots. A long list of fears paralyzed me to my core. I'd toss and turn and create scenarios in my head about the first day of school of everything that could go wrong.
Then I would feed into those lies and believe them to be truths. This started in kindergarten and finally stopped after college.
A couple weeks ago, I found myself waking up (or gone to sleep) with an anxious heart. During one of those restless nights, God reminds me of Proverbs 3:5-6:
"Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; in all your ways know him, and he will make your paths straight."
It doesn't say "Do it all on your own." Or "You should figure it out and get it together." It says TRUST in Jesus and not yourself.
I don't know about you, but I certainly DON'T have it all figured out. In fact I don't think I ever will. But I do know this, we don't have to do a whole lot, we just have to show up say YES to Jesus every time He calls.
Sometimes it's easy to do and other times we have to say "YES!" followed by "buuut Jesus give me a heart that will trust You." (Which there is nothing wrong with praying this prayer! Ya girl is currently praying this. 😆)
God sees the whole picture. He planned out the blueprint and then painted it perfectly with purpose. We only see one teeny tiny corner of it.
So, whether you're in a season of saying yes to God or learning to say yes, I'd love to pray for YOU. Shoot me an email or drop a prayer request below so I can pray for ya! You're not alone, friends! 🙏🏼
